The return of competitive sport
As lockdown starts to ease, all of us at Windrush Valley Private School Oxfordshire are excited at the prospect of resuming competitive sport. The sporting events kick off on 23 June with our inter-house sports day. Then, from September onwards, subject to government social distancing rules at the time, we welcome the return of inter-school competitive sport.

Inter-school sports (local schools)
We have started to prepare for the return of inter-school sports. As such, we have agreed fixtures with local schools from September onwards. The fixtures include football, tag-rugby, and hockey.
Inter-school sports (regional and national)
In addition, we are looking forward to fielding a strong team at the Independent Schools Association (ISA) cross country championship in November, which sadly wasn’t held last year. We will be sending 3 senior girls and 3 senior boys teams. In the past, Windrush Valley Private School Oxfordshire pupils have performed exceptionally well with some going on to represent the school at the national finals. We are confident that our school’s proud sporting pedigree and track record will continue.
We will also be entering teams and individual athletes into other Independent School Association (ISA) sporting events. These include:
- Swimming
- Football
- Cross Country
- Tag-rugby
- Athletics
- Sports Skills Festival
