Windrush Valley Private School – school trips

School trips and visits are a different and exciting activities that enhance the school curriculum. In addition, they help to build a child’s independence, behaviour and social skills. School trips for every year group are held throughout the year. Letters to parents detailing each school trip are sent via Parentmail and includes any request for additional payment, if applicable. Parents will be advised if they need to provide children with a packed lunch. School uniform and specific clothing, suitable for the prevailing weather conditions, may be required; for instance, during the summer school baseball caps must be provided and worn by the children.

As well as making the trips interesting, fun and engaging for the children, safeguarding is of paramount importance. We ensure all our trips are safe and adequately supervised. All school trips have the correct and appropriate adult/child ratios. The Windrush Valley School Oxfordshire minibus is used for school trips for much of the time. Trips are occasionally augmented by staff or parents’ cars. All drivers of the school minibus have passed a supervised driving course by an approved training centre.
