Windrush Valley Private School Oxfordshire – The latest Extended Day activities

 

The school runs a wide range of Extended Day activities (also known as after-school clubs) throughout the academic year. The activities are carefully chosen and are specifically designed to extend learning and introduce pupils to new topics of interest and study outside of the normal school curriculum. These activities also help to develop social skills, broaden friendship groups, and increase self-confidence.

To ensure that the activities are supported by the appropriate expertise and knowledge, many of them are run by external tutors and coaches. The Extended Day activities run from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday. Most activities are open to all pupils in Years 1 to 6. However, some are tailored to specific year groups, whilst others are by invitation only. 

The school’s Extended Day activities for the up and coming term are as follows:

 

Mondays

  • Choir and singing  for Years 3 to 6
  • Fun Phonics (invitation only)
  • Magical maths (invitation only)
  • Junk Modelling for Years 1 to 6
  • Martial Arts for Years 1 to 6 (please note: this is a 5 week course starting after half-term. Therefore, another club can be joined for the weeks before half term)

 

Tuesdays

  • Business Entrepreneur Club for Years 3 to 6
  • Magical maths (invitation only)
  • Board Games and Chess for Years 1 to 6

 

Wednesdays

  • Football for Years 1 to 6
  • All things Japanese for Years 1 to 6
  • Space and Astronomy for Years 1 to 6

 

Thursdays

  • Comic Strip for Years 1 to 3
  • Running Club for Years 1 to 6
  • Mindfulness with Classical Music for Years 4 to 6
