Following the recent announcement by the Government, Windrush Valley Private School Oxfordshire will reopen on the 1 June.

We will be communicating more detail to existing parents through our usual ‘Parent Mail’ communications. However, some new parents, that have enquired about new admissions, have also asked us to keep them updated.

The Department of Education – Direction and Guidance

Our primary focus is the safety of our pupils, parents and staff. Therefore, we have been given direction and guidance by the Department of Education. We want to reassure parents that we are implementing the rules and guidance without exception.

Our staff are currently writing and implementing  the new policies and protocols. We will also be training and testing the new procedures before the school reopens. Therefore, come the 1 June we are confident that the school will be a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Exceptional School Pastoral Care

When the pupils return to school it is important that we help them come to terms with and continue to flourish within the ‘new normal’. We anticipate that some pupils will need more support than others. Windrush Valley Private School Oxfordshire has an exceptional track record for delivering the highest standards of school pastoral care. Our teaching staff are highly experienced in providing physical and emotional support. In addition, our small class size policy ensures that every pupil receives the individual one-to-one attention and support they need.

New Admissions – School Tours

Despite the lock down, new admissions for September are up on last year. We still have a few places left but they are filling quickly. During ‘normal’ times, all prospective new parents are invited to come and visit the school. This has not been possible during lockdown. However, many parents have taken up our offer of a one-to-one video call with the Headteacher, Amanda Douglas. Once the new procedures and protocols have been thoroughly embedded, our intention is to resume school visits. In the meantime, video calls with the Headteacher are still available. However, we would encourage new parents to contact us as soon as possible to avoid missing a place in September.
