Year 4 Pupils – A Memorable Term at Windrush Valley Prep School Oxfordshire

This term has been filled with enriching experiences and remarkable achievements for our Year 4 pupils. From memorable performances to educational field trips, our children have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and creativity. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights that have made this term truly unforgettable.

Young Voices Performance at Resorts Arena

The term kicked off with a spectacular Young Voices performance at the Resorts Arena in Birmingham. The excitement was palpable as our children joined thousands of others to sing their hearts out. Accompanied by a live band and acclaimed vocalists, they delivered an unforgettable performance. The day was a fantastic blend of music, camaraderie, and sheer joy, leaving everyone with memories to cherish.

Educational Field Trips: Vikings and Storytelling

The following week, our pupils embarked on two insightful field trips. The first stop was Banbury Museum, where they stepped back in time to learn about life as a Viking. Through interactive exhibits and engaging activities, the children gained a deeper understanding of Viking history and culture.

Next, they visited the Story Museum in Oxford, a place brimming with inspiration for budding writers. The museum’s immersive environments and creative workshops helped the children hone their storytelling skills, sparking their imaginations and encouraging them to express their ideas through writing.

Success at the Chipping Norton Festival

Our pupil’s’ hard work and dedication shone brightly at the Chipping Norton Festival. They returned with an impressive haul of accolades: six distinctions and ten commendations. This achievement is a testament to their talent and perseverance. The festival provided a wonderful platform for the children to showcase their skills and be recognized for their efforts.

Creative Expressions for Charity

Despite their busy schedules, the children found time to channel their creativity for charitable causes. World Book Day was a fun-filled celebration where pupils transformed into their favourite characters from “Matilda” and “Harry Potter.” The creativity didn’t stop there; they also participated in the Cheviot’s ‘Hilarious Hair Day’ event, sporting some fantastically imaginative hairstyles. These events not only allowed the children to express themselves but also highlighted the importance of community and giving back.

The Key Stage 2 Production

The term culminated in the highly anticipated Key Stage 2 production. The children showcased their talents with confidence and professionalism, delivering a performance that was both entertaining and impressive. Their dedication to rehearsing and perfecting their roles was evident in every scene. The show was a fitting finale to a term filled with artistic and academic achievements.
