Mr Wood MEd TCert DipSpEd ACP FCollP and Mrs Wood BEd (Hons), DipSEN
Mrs Douglas has been teaching throughout Windrush Valley’s Preparatory department for over 14 years and is currently responsible for Year 6. Mrs Douglas is responsible for the school’s enviable performance, musical and choir successes as well as participating in the school’s competitive sports programme.
Mr Hone joined WVS from a very successful maintained primary school in September 2016. He is a widely experienced primary teacher currently responsible for Year 4. He has a keen interest in music and plays in a well-known local jazz band.
Mrs Lockyer is a well-established member of the school, currently responsible for Year 3. She is also an integral member of the whole school PE team and is heavily involved in developing the school’s conservation project. Mrs Lockyer is a keen horsewoman and has a strong interest in animal welfare and care.
Mrs Maudsley joined Windrush Valley School in 2012, bringing with her a strong interest and skill in both PE and Art, and is a member of the whole school PE team. Mrs Maudsley currently teaches Year 2 within the Pre-Preparatory department of the school.
Year 1 – Miss Shirley BTec(National Certificate in Childhood Studies)
Miss Shirley helped develop the current highly successful Foundation Unit and Phonics Programme. She now teaches Form 1 with additional responsibility as the Foundation Unit and Pre-Preparatory reading manager. Miss Shirley also runs the ever popular our Early Morning Care provision.
Miss Jones joined Windrush Valley School as Foundation Leader in 2013 following four successful years as a reception class teacher in a leading London Preparatory school. She has a keen interest in Music and Sport to enhance the curriculum for FU stage pupils.
TEACHING SUPPORT STAFF
Mrs Hickman has many years experience in childcare and nursery settings and works exclusively within the highly regarded Foundation Unit. She also runs the ever popular After School Club for all ages. Mrs Hickman has a strong interest in wildlife and conservation topics.
Mrs Brainin has been teaching at Windrush Valley since 2009. With her degree in Child Psychology and previous extensive experience in Canada, Mrs Brainin brings a wealth of experience to the school’s pre-preparatory department.
Mrs Taylor PGC (SEN) BDA
Mrs Taylor is a highly qualified Dyslexia specialist, and runs the SEN support programme throughout the school. She is also an integral part of the PE team and responsible for competitive school sport throughout the school
As manager of the front desk, Mrs Hawtin is the hub of the school’s organisation and information service. She is the first responder to all queries raised by current and prospective parents and successfully manages the near-impossible task of knowing everything about the school and how it works.
Mr Lovell-Meade BA CQSW
Mr Lovell-Meade has a long tradition and outstanding tradition of providing individual music tuition in Windrush Valley School. He leads the very successful school band and ensures that our music ensembles appear in the very top echelons of local music performances and competitions every year.
Ms Goff and Mrs Bennett
Chef Ally joined us from a very busy state primary school to establish and develop what has quickly become a very well respected and appreciated catering department preparing and cooking a wide variety of meals using locally sourced fresh ingredients. Chef Ally’s ‘tasting trays’ are always eagerly anticipated and enjoyed by everyone
Mrs Bennett is an experienced kitchen assistant who supports Chef. She is also an ardent enthusiast for quality meals from quality products.
